What makes polypropylene environmentally
friendly?
Polypropylene is made up from carbon and hydrogen, and
is manufactured without any dangerous emissions. Polypropylene
can be recycled, incinerated, or landfilled without any
harm to the environment. When burnt, pp will only give off
water vapour and carbon dioxide, which is converted by photosynthesis.
All our production waste is recycled. Pp does not contain
heavy metals and is chemically stable (inert).
Polypropylene is resistant to water and most oils, greases,
and chemical products. It is extremely hard wearing and
very tear resistant. When pp is creased a change in the
molecular structure increases the material's resistance
to mechanical stress.
Polypropylene satisfies the four requirements of the EC
Environment commission.
i. Minimum use of natural resources
ii. Reduced emission of polluting substances
iii. Long working life
iv. Optimises re-use and recycling
We have full design facilities with CAD/CAM equipment
for designing, sampling and tooling. Or free design service
give customers the opportunity to see and try out our product
before and final commitments are made. We send pre-production
samples to all customers whose orders require new tools,
thereby ensuring that customers can inspect their product
before production starts.
Yes we do. Design is central to all or activities. We
have a fully CAD/CAM equipped design office where we put
our customers' ideas into reality. A customer's idea is
often no more than a roughly scribbled sketch, or a discussion
over the telephone.
Ambro have a very extensive and fully illustrated Product
Brochure in the form of a ring binder. This brochure displays
what we do, and gives a general idea on the range of our
activities. We will be pleased to rush a copy to you. Simply
fill out our online contact
form to order a brochure.
Do Ambro offer an advisory or consultancy
service?
Ambro give full and extensive advice either
i. Through our area sales managers, who operate throughout
the UK, and will visit customers at short notice. They carry
samples of products and materials and will be able to help
with any enquiry
ii. Or through our internal sales consultants, Design staff,
or managerial staff.Simply fill out our online
contact form to request our any help.
Ambro are committed to give customers firm prices and
written quotations within 24 hours from standard enquiries
being placed. This may sometimes be delayed when outside
contractors (litho printers, toolmakers, finishing houses
etc.) are involved. Our internal systems and performance
parameters are constantly monitored.
This depends on how busy our production schedules are,
but we can make the following statement with reasonable
confidence:
i. Small orders (up to 1000 units) for unprinted products
can be turned around within 5-10 working days. Print will
add approx 5 days to that.
ii. Larger orders will typically take about 3-4 weeks until
completion.
We will always do our very best to help our customers
out of trouble. Tell us what your delivery requirement is
and we will try to accommodate you. Once we say we can do
something, we will do it. We do not let customers down on
agreed dates.
Ambro are an ISO 9000 registered firm. We follow our internal
procedures very carefully and confirm all quotations and
orders in writing.
Quality is the most central issue of our operations. From
the very earliest stage of a product cycle (customer approvals
and signing off procedures), to the actual production run
(quality inspections, batch inspections and destruction
tests) and the final packing and despatch of the product
('last off' inspection), quality is the most important aspect
of everything we produce.
Ambro has been trading since 1962. The company has been
run by Tom Teichmann, the Managing Director, since 1975,
and has been in Telford for most of that time.
Ambro has now grown into one of the most successful manufacturers
of polypropylene presentation and packaging products in
the UK.
Yes. We have very close relationships with a number of
litho
printers who specialize in this. The effects of litho print
directly onto polyprop are superb. Prices become more competitive
than 4 colour screen printing from quantities of 5000 upwards.
I need something non-standard and a bit
special. Would that be a
problem?
No problem at all. Everything we make is special and bespoke.
What is
more, we can let you have a sample of what you want, designed
specially for you, before you commit yourself.
Is it possible to see a sample before I
order? Do I have to pay for
this?
Samples are no problem. We either supply
this from existing tools, or
we will make the sample specifically for you on our CAD
System. This
service is free to all our customers.
You can pay by cheque or most popular
credit cards. We can set up
credit accounts for Limited Companies or PLC's within
minutes. This process takes a little longer for non-limited
companies.
Gauges vary from 280 micron to 2000 micron.
The industry standards in the UK are as follows:
* Lightweight: 500 micron
* Middleweight 800 micron
* Heavyweight 1200 micron.
We accept these standards and supply accordingly. Always
take good care that you know what gauge is being specified,
as not all manufacturers fall in line with accepted industry
terminology and standards.
